What is Dry Grad?

Dry Grad is a parent-organized party that takes place after the formal dinner and provides graduate students with a safe, drug/alcohol-free venue to continue celebrating their graduation. The event is fully supervised and sponsored by parents of the graduating class.

Details
  • Friday, May 30, 2025 after the formal dinner/dance
  • Ladner Community Centre, 4734 51 Street, Ladner, BC
  • 10:45 pm to 4:00 am (Graduates must be in the door by 11:45 pm and do not have in/out privileges)
Who organizes Dry Grad?

Parents of the graduating class are the primary organizers. Grade 11 parents are also welcome to help in preparation for next year. The event has several committees (decorating, red carpet, food, games, security, ect.). We have started the planning process and are currently looking for volunteers to help with fundraising. We need a Fundraising Committee Chair and volunteers for fundraising and prizes. If you are interested, please email communications@dssdrygrad.com. Most committees will need more volunteers to help make these events for our kids a success. There will be a sign up sheet coming out soon for more volunteer opportunities.

Do students need to register?

Yes, graduates MUST pre-register and submit a completed waiver form to attend. Learn More >

How does Dry Grad fit into the rest of the grad activities?
